Senior Pastor: Anthony Svajda
Anthony and his wife, Kristen, are originally from the North Fort Worth area. Anthony has a Bachelors degree from Dallas Baptist University in Business Systems and a Master of Divinity degree in Evangelism from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary. He is currently attending Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary in Fort Worth, pursuing a PhD. in Evangelism and Church Revitalization.
Anthony’s desire in ministry is to provide Biblical leadership, which encourages others towards a deeper and more meaningful relationship with Jesus Christ as both Savior and Lord.
Anthony loves coffee, watching movies, spending time with family and friends, and especially loves to drive fast cars!
Worship/Education: Grant Goodman
Grant grew up in both Stephenville and the nearby town of Lingleville. After graduating from Stephenville High School, Grant attended Tarleton State University where he earned a Bachelor of Music Degree in 1986. He attended Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary from 1989 to 1991 and studied Religious Education. He served at North Park Baptist Church, Sherman, from 1989-2000 as Music and Youth Minister at First Baptist Church, Howe, from 2000-2005 as Associate Pastor of Music, Education and Administration. He has served at Harvey Baptist since 2005.
Grant was saved at a youth camp in Brownwood at the age of 13 and called to vocational ministry while in college at Tarleton State. His wife Nan is a music teacher and they have three children, Claire, Caden, and Chloe. He enjoys running, reading, and sports activities.
Children’s Minister: Nan Goodman
Nan grew up in Venus, Texas as a Venus Bulldog. She and her brother were blessed to have loving parents and awesome Grandparents living nearby. After graduation from VHS she attended Tarleton State University where she earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Communication with emphasis in Music and Theater. She did graduate work at TSU and UNT in Education. She has experience in teaching Fine Arts in Stephenville ISD and Whitewright ISD, and also taught special ed/general ed in Howe ISD, Mineral Wells ISD, Stephenville Christian School, and at Stephenville High School.
Nan was saved at Latham Springs Baptist Youth Camp as a Freshman and Baptized at First Baptist Church in Venus, Texas when she was 16. While attending BSM at TSU she met her future husband Grant and they began singing and worshipping together. While attending youth camp in Brownwood as a worship leader God called her to minister to children and youth. Nan and Grant have been married and ministering together since attending TSU.
They are blessed with three children and a son in law. Caden Goodman, Chloe Goodman, and Claire and Brandon Ratliff. She loves spending time with her family and friends, traveling, and sports. She likes listening to records, playing music with friends and family, and being a part of the HBC Worship team. She supports our Yellowjackets and Honeybees! Grant calls her “A Kid Magnet”!
Youth Ministry: Jonathan Beames
Jonathan and his wife Alyse are originally from the Houston area where they were married in 2013. After feeling God’s call to full time ministry in High School, he received a B.A in Christianity from Houston Baptist University (2013) and an M.Div from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary (2016). He has also previously served at his home church in Pasadena, Texas as a youth ministry coordinator. Jonathan and Alyse are both passionate about seeing students develop a passion for the scriptures and making disciples. Jonathan enjoys watching sports, reading, and spending time with family and friends. Jonathan and Alyse have one son, Eli and Jonathan is currently pursuing a Ph.D in Old Testament at Southwestern Seminary.
Ministry Assistant: Rachel Phillips
Rachel grew up in Stephenville & Morgan Mill, TX and graduated Stephenville High School in 2013. She married her high school sweetheart, Garrett Phillips, and has since been blessed with a beautiful little girl, Audri. She started working at Harvey Baptist Church as Ministry Assistant in October 2014. Rachel was raised in the Baptist church and accepted Jesus Christ at the age of 8.
