Colossians 4:7–14 “Achieve Your Role In The Church”

Colossians 4:7–14 “Achieve Your Role In The Church”
7 Tychicus, our dearly loved brother, faithful minister, and fellow servant in the Lord, will tell you all the news about me.
8 I have sent him to you for this very purpose, so that you may know how we are and so that he may encourage your hearts.
9 He is coming with Onesimus, a faithful and dearly loved brother, who is one of you. They will tell you about everything here.
10 Aristarchus, my fellow prisoner, sends you greetings, as does Mark, Barnabas’s cousin (concerning whom you have received instructions: if he comes to you, welcome him),
11 and so does Jesus who is called Justus. These alone of the circumcised are my coworkers for the kingdom of God, and they have been a comfort to me.
12 Epaphras, who is one of you, a servant of Christ Jesus, sends you greetings. He is always wrestling for you in his prayers, so that you can stand mature and fully assured in everything God wills.
13 For I testify about him that he works hard for you, for those in Laodicea, and for those in Hierapolis.
14 Luke, the dearly loved physician, and Demas send you greetings.

Colossians 4:2-6 “Achieve With Your Words”

Colossians 4:2-6 “Achieve With Your Words”

Colossians 4:2–4 (CSB) 2 Devote yourselves to prayer; stay alert in it with thanksgiving. 3 At the same time, pray also for us that God may open a door to us for the word, to speak the mystery of Christ, for which I am in chains, 4 so that I may make it known as I should.

Colossians 3:12-17 “What Christ Has Achieved For You”

12 Therefore, as God’s chosen ones, holy and dearly loved, put on compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness, and patience,

13 bearing with one another and forgiving one another if anyone has a grievance against another. Just as the Lord has forgiven you, so you are also to forgive.

14 Above all, put on love, which is the perfect bond of unity.

15 And let the peace of Christ, to which you were also called in one body, rule your hearts. And be thankful.

16 Let the word of Christ dwell richly among you, in all wisdom teaching and admonishing one another through psalms, hymns, and spiritual songs, singing to God with gratitude in your hearts.

17 And whatever you do, in word or in deed, do everything in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through him.

Colossians 3:1–4 “Achieve a Greater Purpose”

Colossians 3:1–4 “Achieve a Greater Purpose”

1 So if you have been raised with Christ, seek the things above, where Christ is, seated at the right hand of God.

2 Set your minds on things above, not on earthly things.

3 For you died, and your life is hidden with Christ in God.

4 When Christ, who is your life, appears, then you also will appear with him in glory.

Why Do I Think About The Things That I Think About?

Why Should I Set My Mind On Things Above?

  1. Understand That If You Are A Christian, You Are Destined For Heaven.
  1. Understand That We Are Not In The Real World.

What Will Setting My Mind On Things Above Do?

  1.  Setting Your Mind On Things Above Will Change Your View Of Earthly Position.

Luke 12:15 He then told them, “Watch out and be on guard against all greed, because one’s life is not in the abundance of his possessions.”

  1.  Setting Your Mind On Things Above Will Give You Strength To Endure All Things.

Hebrews 12:2 keeping our eyes on Jesus, the source and perfecter of our faith. For the joy that lay before him, he endured the cross, despising the shame, and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God.

2 Corinthians 4:16–17 Therefore we do not give up. Even though our outer person is being destroyed, our inner person is being renewed day by day.

17 For our momentary light affliction is producing for us an absolutely incomparable eternal weight of glory.

  1.  Setting Your Mind On Things Above Will Motivate You To Achieve A Greater Purpose!
