Interim Pastor

John Barnes

My name is John and my family and I are so happy to be with you all.  I have been married to my best friend, Christi, for over 23 years.  We have three children; Terah age 21, Jordan and Ava who are both 15.  Our passion is to make a living God known to a watching world.  We do not do this with perfection but in our brokenness, showing others how Jesus makes a difference in our everyday lives.

I was called to ministry at a young age even before I knew what that calling looked like.  Isn’t it cool that God qualifies the called, and not so much calls the qualified…just look at the ragtag group of disciples who walked with him daily.  I received my undergraduate from Tarleton State University in Education, a MA in Pastoral Ministry and Biblical Studies, and a Masters in Educational Administration.  Currently I am employed with the amazing Central Elementary within SISD and my wife is employed at Tarleton State University and is a LPC Associate at the Gathering Place in Stephenville.  We have been fortunate to serve in Texas, Colorado, California, and Haiti.  Along the way we have met some super amazing folks that helped us become who we are in Christ today.  We look forward to the time we have with you all and what you will add to our journey.

God is so good!
